The founder of this attraction got a bit carried away🤣 I have already proposed a name change - it will probably take a while. The correct name and location are: Church of St. Matthias the Apostle in Andrychów It is the most important sacral monument in the city, located in the very center. Beginnings (14th c.): The first mentions of the parish date back to 1325–1346. In the tithe records from 1344, payments for the "construction of the church" were mentioned. Original buildings: In the 16th century, there was a wooden church here, which was then a branch of the parish in Wieprz. Current temple (17th–18th c.): In 1646, on the initiative of Elżbieta of Przytycka Zebrzydowska, the construction of a brick church began. In 1721, the church was consecrated after a thorough Baroque renovation. Between 1722 and 1726, the Brotherhood of the Rosary of the Sweetest Name of Jesus was founded at the church. Expansion (19th–20th c.): The temple was enlarged with chapels (1725) and modernized in 1838 and 1924–1929.

In which pastry shop in his hometown of Wadowice, the future Pope John Paul II ate cream puffs after graduation? During his speech in June 1999, John Paul II pointed to the place where the confectionery famous at that time was located: In the building on the corner at the corner of the former Market Square (today 15 Jana Pawła II Square) and ul. Mickiewicza 2. Initially, the most famous pre-war confectionery in Wadowice was run by Józef Lisko from 1905. The confectioner's widow handed over the family business to Karol Hagenhuber, a confectioner from Vienna, to run the family business. It was in this place that Karol Wojtyła, a freshly baked graduate, was supposed to eat cream puffs after graduation. John Paul II Square in Wadowice (formerly Rynek, previously Red Army Square) - a square in the center of Wadowice, popularly known as the market square. After the city was founded, it was laid out under the German Chełmno law in 1430 as a square. After a fire in 1819, the eastern wall of the square changed. The buildings were demolished and their line shifted so that they were flush with the façade of the Basilica of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The town hall probably once stood on the square. The oldest buildings built around the square come from the 19th century. They stand at the western and eastern walls. On the northern wall of the square there is a municipal building from the first half of the 19th century. https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plac_Jana_Paw%C5%82a_II_w_Wadowicach https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2JI6w_Nzdw

Tenement house at ul. Kościelna 7 (formerly Rynek 2), where the Museum operates, was built around 1870. On the side of the square there was a Bałamuth shop with technical articles, Adolf Zadora's bindery was operating in the backyard, while the apartments on the first floor were rented by tenants. In 1919, Karol Wojtyła and his wife Emilia née Kaczorowska, together with their 13-year-old son Edmund, lived in this house. A year later, Karol Józef Wojtyła, the future Pope, was born in the apartment, which is today the heart of the Museum. The first museum in the tenement house was established in 1984. Its originators were: the catechist of the Holy Father for many years and the parish priest of Wadowice, Fr. Edward Zacher and Fr. Cardinal Franciszek Macharski. The museum, initially run by the Sisters of Nazareth, was thoroughly rebuilt and reopened in 2014 as the Family Home Museum of the Holy Father John Paul II in Wadowice. https://www.malopolska.pl/dla-mieszkanca/kultura-i-dziedzictwo/instytucje-kultury/muzeum-dom-rodzinny-ojca-swietego-jana-pawla-ii-w-wadowicach https://domjp2.pl/ https://www.facebook.com/domjp2/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwQjaXqHTqA
