December 22, 2023, View of Blue Marsh Lake

There is a great view of Blue Marsh Lake from the Skinner's Loop trail. This short loop branches off of the more popular (and much longer) Lake Border Trail. The first half of the trail is through an open field, and the second half of the trail is through a thick forest before coming to an opening near the banks of the water.

October 23, 2023, Tulpehocken Creek

Tulpehocken Creek is a tributary of the Schuylkill River. While there are no bathrooms or picnic tables, it is a great spot for a break to take in the scenic and tranquil waters. The creek is open to fishing, so it is not uncommon to share the space with others trying their luck to catch something.
