Claudio Donini
May 14, 2026, Ascent to Rifugio Selvata

Quiet spot with a magnificent panorama, a great place for a break if you plan to continue climbing to the highest refuges in the Brenta Dolomites. Also excellent as a transit point for the Molveno, Pradel, Rifugio Croz dell'Altissimo, Selvata, Rifugio Malga Andalo loop.

A very nice hut. While you're there, don't miss the ice cave "Silvia's Cave," which is only 10 minutes away. To get there, simply walk towards the chapel, and there's a small sign directing you to the cave!

Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed when we were there. However, we were able to eat our packed lunch outside because the benches and tables hadn't been cleared away.

Looks new. It was open when I passed by. I don't know if that's always the case, of course. There's firewood in front of the door. I didn't see any water.

It is definitely worth deviating 50 meters from the main road, walking 5 meters of rocks equipped with a rope (very simple) and admiring this wonder of nature!
