The waterfall is spectacular, access is secured by a steel cable and staples, difficult to access at high tide.

The Agostini Refuge is built in a beautiful position on a hill in the upper Valle di Ambiez, a thirty-minute walk from the Vedretta di Ambiez. It enjoys a magnificent view of the Giudicarie Valley and the reliefs of Bondone dello Stivo and Baldo. It can be reached along the impervious dirt road that climbs up to the Ambiez Valley, trail marker 325. More interesting routes are represented by the path that passes through the Dengolo farms. A taxi-jeep service connects Baesa, Ristoro Dolomiti with the Rifugio al Cacciatore. The high altitude refuge most easily reachable from Agostini is the Rifugio alla Tosa, Tommaso Pedrotti via the high (aided for short stretches) and low Palmieri path.

Hunter's Hut

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The Cacciatore Refuge stands at just over 1,800 meters above sea level in a beautiful position in the pastures of the Ambiez Valley. It represents the natural orographic connection point between the two banks of the valley. It is the crossroads of all the paths that connect the Val di Jon and Stenico to the Val di Ambiez. A tormented mule track constitutes the main access to the refuge. In summer a jeep taxi service connects San Lorenzo with the refuge. Other access routes are represented by the paths of the Masi di Dengolo, n.342 and by path 349 which goes up the Jon Valley with a much longer distance.
