The Kahle Pön nature reserve near Usseln, with an area of 35.04 hectares, is located south of Usseln in the municipality of Willingen in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district. The nature reserve (NSG) was designated in 1987 due to its botanical importance. The NSG is identical to the FFH area Kahle Pön near Usseln (DE 4718-302). The NSG is located within the Diemelsee Nature Park. The southern border lies on the state border of Hesse. The nature reserve Kahle Pön in North Rhine-Westphalia borders the southwest corner of the NSG. The NSG is spatially and functionally connected to other high moors in the Upland region and in North Rhine-Westphalia.
