The Elbe beach in Hollern-Twielenfleth (Bassenfleth district) offers fine sand, a large sunbathing lawn, and a breathtaking view of passing ships. It is sheltered from the wind, invites kite flying and beach volleyball, and also houses a designated dog beach. Under the trees, you can find shady spots on particularly hot days. However, due to dangerous currents, swimming in the Elbe is not advisable. A parking lot is located in the immediate vicinity of the beach, in front of the dike on the main road. There is a bicycle repair station and a public toilet area here. A visit to the beach is both recommended and interesting.

Always nice to cycle on, there is a lot to see and discover as well as recommend. Go for a walk along the dike or cycle. Plenty of opportunities to take a break and refuel in a café or restaurant. For the kids, a nice playground nearby as well as an outdoor pool. Let yourself get a tan on Twielenflether Beach and let off steam. Parking spaces for cars and motorhomes are available at the Twielenflether Fährhaus. And along the Elbe you can discover sailboats and ships. The Elbe Cycle Route is highly recommended and interesting at the same time 👍🏼
