I was there on business and looked at the buildings. It's beautiful, and so is the square around it! The old town of Aichach is enchanting!

Sheltered, so to speak, in the shade of a mighty tree, the biker encounters a small sacred monument in the form of a crucifix – a cross with the body of the crucified Christ. The ends of the longitudinal and transverse beams are shaped, and a protective roof stretches above them in a semicircle. At the feet of the crucified Christ, the viewer finds a second figure, dressed entirely in heavenly blue. Typically, those who linger here are presented with the Mother of God, who, in the face of her son's agony, suffers with him and perseveres on the cross. According to the biblical account of the crucifixion, as narrated by the Evangelist, there should actually be two figures, because Jesus entrusted Mary to the care of John.

St. Michael's is the Catholic parish church in the Friedberg district of Ottmaring. The current neo-Gothic building dates from 1877–1878 and was consecrated in 1881. There was originally a church on the site in the 13th century. After several fires – particularly in 1865 – the church was rebuilt under the architect Max Treu. A modern extension was added in 1984. Particularly noteworthy are the historicist stained glass windows from 1890 and a modern stained glass cycle in the annex. The parish also includes the branch churches of St. Thomas Rederzhausen and St. Nicholas Hügelshart.
