A very beautiful and relatively easy levada hike. The paths are in good condition and you hike right to the start of the levada.

The Levada do Rei, a 5.3 km long hiking trail (plus 5.3 km round trip), leads through the island's lush natural landscape to a unique, protected area. The hike, rated as moderate, takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes. Since there are hardly any inclines, it is not particularly strenuous. There is a fee for the Levada hike. An attendant stands near the trailhead parking lot informing visitors that the fee applies. Visitors aged 12 and over pay €4.50. Payment is possible via QR code through the SIMplifica portal. Cash payments are not accepted.
