๐ŸŒฟ Upper French Creek Wetlands A hidden little nature gem along Jaycox Road in Avon. Until recently, this 48-acre area was part of the Bob-O-Link Golf Course. In 2025 it was opened to walkers as the Upper French Creek Wetlands, giving nature the opportunity to gradually reclaim the land. The former golf-cart paths now make for easy and pleasant walking trails through wetlands, meadows and young woodland. Around 1.25 miles (2 km) of trail are currently open, with more trails planned for the future. Itโ€™s still a young nature preserve, which makes it especially interesting to see how the landscape is slowly changing from a golf course back into a natural wetland habitat. A peaceful little place for a short walk, some birdwatching, or simply enjoying a bit of nature โ€” well worth discovering if youโ€™re in the Avon area. ๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿฆ†๐Ÿฅพ Tip: Keep your eyes and ears open for birds around the wetlands โ€” nature is quickly taking this place back.

Although the path has a couple of busy roads to cross. This section of the metroparks between strongsville and Rocky River are some of the best multi-use trails you can find. It stays close to the river, so the path is winding. Lots of picnic grounds and restrooms. All paved

Another small beautiful lake that is so common around this area. A nice walk from here is to Lake Isaac on the Lake-to-Lake Trail, which is 2.4 miles away.

This is a small, beautiful lake and more of a starting point for the Lake- to-Lake trail than anything else. You can start from here and walk or bike to Lake Abrams which is just 2.4 miles from here. It is a stunning route in all seasons.

Not only is their a bike repair station here but, the beauty of the converging east and west branches of the Rocky River provide a lovely place to spend time. This nature center is a quiet comfortable space to learn about the nature around you. (at this time, the building is dog friendly so, some owners allow more barking than others, FYI) https://www.clevelandmetroparks.com/parks/visit/parks/rocky-river-reservation/rocky-river-nature-center
