The actually beautiful hut no longer looks inviting with the graffiti on it. A playground, barbecue area, and a large parking lot are located right next to it.

The Königskanzel is an observation tower located between Dornstetten and the district of Hallwangen, which was built in 1911 to mark the silver wedding anniversary of the royal couple of Württemberg. The tower has a U-shaped floor plan; including the parapet, it is 460 cm high and 500 cm wide. Access is via a staircase attached to the side; there is no interior (filled in, no access). The tower is maintained by the Schwarzwaldverein. At the top in the middle of the tower, there is a round metal plaque acting as a signpost, indicating what is located where.
