On a tour to Mount Chocorua, it is worth making a detour to the Three Sisters (First Sister (1,022 m), Middle Sister (1,018 m), Third Sister (1,011 m). The peaks are in a row on the ridge to the north between the famous mountain and Blue Mountain. On Middle Sister are the remains of a former fire tower; next to it is a radio repeater belonging to the forestry administration. Mount Chocorua is named after the Sokosis chief Chocorua, who lived in the early 18th century. The 1,064 m high Mount Chocorua is one of the most frequently climbed mountains in the US state of New Hampshire.
