Even though this is an artificial lake made within the last years of communism, it still remains one of the places to "get out" of the crowded noisy city.

You can slip off the rocks! Be very careful on the descents! I cut my elbow when I took a curve.

The Beit Israel Synagogue is Brașov's largest Jewish house of worship. An Orthodox congregation has been active here since 2015. Beit Israel (House of Israel) was built between 1899 and 1901 in the Neo-Gothic style with Moorish accents, designed by the Hungarian architect Lipót Baumhorn. Brașov's Jewish community was officially established in 1826. The occupational restrictions imposed on Jews by medieval Saxon statutes remained an obstacle to the community's development for a time, but the number of Jews in Brașov steadily increased, from 769 in 1890 to 6,000 in 1940. The community split in 1877 into an Orthodox (traditionalist) and a Neo-Orthodox rite, each building its own place of worship. Both synagogues exist to this day.

Absolutely. For those seeking a challenge, Romania offers nearly 300 difficult trail running routes, primarily in the Carpathian Mountains. Regions like the Făgăraș and Retezat Mountains provide high alpine trails, significant elevation changes, and rugged terrain. An example of a more demanding route is the Brașov Synagogue – Picnic place loop from Black Church, which covers nearly 20 km with over 660 meters of elevation gain.
Yes, many running routes in Romania are designed as loops, offering convenient starting and ending points. Popular examples include the BTArena loop from Cluj-Napoca, a 7.4-mile (11.9 km) route, and the Cluj Arena – Horea Statue Group loop from Mănăștur, which is 8.2 miles (13.2 km) long.

Winter running is possible, particularly in lower elevations and urban parks, but mountain trails may require specialized gear due to snow and ice.
Yes, for those looking for longer runs, Romania offers numerous options. While specific ultra-marathon trails are often custom-planned, many of the mountain regions, particularly the Carpathians, provide extensive networks of trails that can be linked for long-distance training. Urban routes like the Cluj Arena – BTArena loop from Mănăștur extend over 13 km, suitable for longer city runs.
