When you approach the stone, it looks like you could almost walk up to it. It doesn't look steep at all. And then you try and suddenly it's vertical, like trying to go up a wall. Then you touch that wooden ladder and it all shakes and wobbles like it's going to fall any minute. Missing steps don't help to feel safe, either. But it's virtually impossible to go up without stepping on it, once at least. There are also ropes fixed to metal structures, which are helpful, but it's quite a workout to pull yourself up by using them.
And then there is coming down. It's way harder to do, as you don't see where to place your feet on that vertical surface. It's good to have someone to guide you, while looking from the bottom.
Only the first part is really hard, higher up it's clearly visible where to step (little notches carved in the rock), and it's a bit less steep. Plus there is a solid metal rail to hold on to.
