Flushing Ferry

Highlight • Structure

Taking the Flushing Ferry from Falmouth to Flushing is a great way to link up to Trefusis and Penarrow Points without having to run all the way round the roads. The ferry runs year round and takes just 10 minutes. It makes a novel way to catch your breath on a run.

Flushing Quay

Highlight • Viewpoint

As Trefusis Road rounds the bend in the coastline there are fantastic views across to Falmouth and east to Carrick Roads and St Mawes beyond. New Quay House stands proudly on the riverbank. Now a holiday cottage, this grade II listed building was built in 1703 as the home for a Merchant Ship Captain.

View of Carrick Roads Estuary

Highlight • Natural Monument

Carrick Roads is the name given to the Estuary of the River Fal. You can run along the banks of Carrick Roads here at Penarrow Point, further north towards Restronguet Point or on the eastern shore by Messack Point and St Mawes. There are sweeping views along either side.
A natural harbour, Carrick Roads is the third largest in the world. It is popular with kayakers, paddleboarders, and other water sports enthusiasts with plenty of creeks to explore.

Set in a stunning location, right on the waterfront of Carrick Roads, Mylor Churchtown is a picture perfect village with a large harbour. There is a cafe here, public toilets and car parking so it makes a great place to visit on a run or to start/finish.
