This route was planned by komoot.
..very nice tour, unfortunately I only got to St.Leonhard, where I had a flat tire. It was Sunday and very difficult to get a new hose. So guys, the hose and air pump are a must.
In beautiful weather, we set off from the hotel today and cycled to Merano. The tour went along the Passeier cycle path - always with the apple orchards on one side and the Passer on the other. Of course, we changed sides several times because we had to cross the Passer every now and then. The tour was beautiful again - in terms of the condition of the path, the landscape and the weather. Merano itself is worth a trip - the old town, the shopping mile (Meraner Lauben), the Tappeinerweg, which runs over Merano's roofs, the Botanical Gardens, the Powder Tower, the Wandelhalle, where we treated ourselves to a non-alcoholic beer, an espresso and an ice cream, and much more. Unfortunately, Komoot only recorded the outward journey - no idea why. Perhaps the break was too long or Komoot doesn't like the same outward and return journey.
Get out of the heat in the Merano glowing oven and into the cooler Passeier Valley to eat ice cream in St. Leonhard! A little crazy, but still beautiful. From St. Leonhard the fun is over, there are 3 options to continue, over the Timmelsjoch to the Ötztal or over the Jaufen Pass to Sterzing... Since we didn't feel like going up more than 2,000 m, we took the 3rd option, namely going back the same way...🤣
Today we rented e-bikes and rode through the Passeier Valley to St. Leonhard. A lovely tour along the Passer. After delicious coffee, cake and beer we headed back to Merano. We rushed because thunderstorms were forecast and the sky was getting dark. But the rain passed! Lucky for us! I just saw that the tour wasn't recorded to the end. The start and finish was the train station! Although I only stopped the tour at the finish! Weird! 🤔
A great bike path along the Passer. Very well signposted! Beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, pastures and small towns. Absolute recommendation for cycling.
A very nice tour along the Passer. We started in Algund, through Meran and in the Sissi Park the cycle path starts. Up to St. Leonhard it's always 2-4 percent uphill. Short break and then downhill home. There are always opportunities to stop off on the tour. In the high season there are many e-bikes on the road.
After yesterday's battle against the mountain and the heat, today we got on the 🚴🏻♂️🚴 and cycled along the river through the Passeier Valley. That was much more relaxing than climbing the peaks. When we arrived in St. Leonhard, we treated ourselves to a short break with non-alcoholic shandy and wheat beer before heading back the same way. Shortly before Algund, we visited Merano and the Laubengasse and treated ourselves to a well-earned piece of cake there 😋
