This route was planned by komoot.
Thuès-Caranca is a stop on the Petit Train Jaune, the narrow-gauge railway from Villefranche-de-Conflent to Latour-de-Carol.
Now my second hiking partner has let me down 😳 - I always showed my best side 🤔. Well, then I'll have to figure out how to get home on my own. My route isn't quite clear yet. It was very humid in Barcelona this morning, and the forecast for the day wasn't much better, so it wasn't difficult to walk a few meters and cross over to France. After a 3-hour drive, it was time to stretch my legs. I chose the Gorge de la Carança for this. From the hiking parking lot, a rock gate leads directly into the gorge. You rarely get into it so quickly. The outward route climbed rapidly – narrow, rocky paths through wooded terrain. After about two kilometers, I had to decide whether to continue into the gorge or continue directly on the circular route. Since I had enough time, I decided to continue walking into the gorge. Soon I was standing at the first narrow bridge, followed by more wobbly suspension bridges and iron walkways hewn into the rock high above the roaring water. Shortly after crossing point 10, I decided to turn back. The return route, over a rocky ledge, is simply more spectacular. Simply a top-notch tour. But now I'll have to see what happens tomorrow...
The absolute hammer. I think that was the craziest thing I've walked so far. A dream of a landscape. Can be recommended to everyone :-)
How do I pass a beautiful morning until the rain comes in the early afternoon? Right... take a little tour. Small....but very fine. You should be sure-footed and not afraid of heights. Just class this gorge. It is a short but very intense circuit. I wouldn't necessarily take dogs with me, as it often goes over checker plate runs or over cable suspension bridges. You have to try it... just awesome!
Wow!!! Significant difference in altitude. Super impressive and very beautiful
Nice excursion and good company in the French Pyrenees, an excursion of about 3 hours in total and about 6 km, circularly traveling through the gorge of the boxed river of Las Gorgas de Carança located 1 hour and a little from Puigcerdà, in Thues-Les Valls , an entertaining and beautiful route, between mountains, walkways in the river, and even a ledge excavated between the rock wall not suitable for those who suffer from vertigo, since the sensation and height to the river is very considerable and although it is equipped with a cable to provide you security in the advance, it does not fail to impress which also injects you with enough adventurous adrenaline, as difficulty it only has the feeling of overcoming and advancing on the way back along a steep path between rocks but with adequate attention it should not pose any problem, In short, a beautiful trail with a feeling of fun adventure through a spectacular gorge and gorge.
