Can Robert

Highlight • Historical Site

La Mola can be reached by several paths. The most typical are the Camino de los Monjes and Can Robert, where there is a car park nearby. Can Robert is a traditional farmhouse with two floors. On the main façade it has a voussoired portal and straight lintel windows, one of them decorated. Next to the farmhouse there are remains of an oil mill, a lime oven, tanks and other farm elements. The farmhouse has been documented with this name since the 18th century, but it is probable that there was an earlier settlement, from medieval times.

Manel Cave

Highlight • Cave

Cueva de Manel is quite popular; You don't need rope or any specific material, but it's not easy. The narrowness of its galleries makes it not suitable for many people. Entering the cave is recommended only if you are with an experienced group.

Friar's Cave

Highlight • Cave

The Friar's Cave is located above Can Pobla, 960 meters above sea level, in the Sant Llorenç del Munt Natural Park. The cavity was formed by karstic processes in the Tertiary conglomerates. It has three entrances and a route of 70 meters, lobby and corridor.

Holes of Can Pobla

Highlight • Natural Monument

The continuous action of the erosive agents on some rocks and cliffs of the massif has caused small holes. They do not have the depth of hollow caves, but they are also often attractively shaped and offer good views of the landscape. Another phenomenon, with very similar results, is generated by needles resting on a cliff and leaving a large hole in the middle. These types of arcades are usually called rock bridges.

Hort dels Monjos Cave

Highlight • Cave

The Cova de L'Hort dels Monjos and the three cavities on the right hand side are located on the eastern slope of Roca Colom, in an area known as Horts dels Monjos, where there is an abundance of soil rich in substrate and where the community of monks from the old monastery of Sant Llorenç del Munt cultivated.

The highest peak in the natural park. Here is the Romanesque monastery of Sant Llorenç del Munt (10th century). There is also a very popular restaurant where you can enjoy one of the most spectacular views over much of Catalonia, thanks to the 1,104 m height.

La Mola (1,103 m)

Highlight • Summit

Fantastic place to visit with family, although on weekends it gets very crowded. It is one of the few examples of Catalan Romanesque that preserves its original plan. The bell tower is low and it is speculated that it was not finished. Next to the temple there is a wing, possibly a section of the cloister where a restaurant is located today. An interesting fact is that everything that the restaurant needs for its operation is carried to the top of the mountain on mules.

Canal dels Micos

Highlight • Gorge

The Canal dels Micos is one of the classic canals of Montserrat. The first part has to advance climbing like monkeys (Monkeys) thanks to the roots of the trees. The final objective is spectacular, the Miranda dels Ecos, a privileged vantage point in the northern area of Montserrat. Note: the trail is probably not suitable for inexperienced hikers.

Morral del Drac

Highlight • Natural Monument

It is located on the northern slope of La Mola (1,103.3 m), the highest point of the massif, at a distance of about 550 meters from the summit. It is in the pass between the summit of La Mola and the hill of Griera (1,002.4), at the beginning of the Pagès ridge, which forms the backbone of the massif of Sant Llorenç del Munt up to the pass of Eres, southeast of Montcau. It has an elevation of 980.2 m. It is in the municipality of Matadepera, in Vallès Occidental. On the south-west side of the pass where it is located there is the Coma de l'Abella canal and on the north-east side there is the Santa Agnès canal, where the chapel of Santa Agnès is located.
It is a monolith of conglomerate with a carbonate composition formed by two large blocks of about 32 meters high, separated at their base, where they leave a large opening.
It is the scene of one of the most remote traditional legends of Sant Llorenç del Munt, the legend of the dragon of Sant Llorenç. The first ascent was made on February 11, 1923 by members of the Terrassa Hiking Center.

Sescorts Caves

Highlight • Cave

The Sescorts caves, also called Les Corts and Los Estables, are located below the Morral del Drac, on the path that goes from the Estenalles pass to La Mola. The caves are close to the Coma de l'Abella cliff, at the foot of the Petanta Rock. They were used a few years ago to keep cattle and we can still find the roof quite smoky from the fire on the ground that they made. There are 7 small cavities with an approximate length of 25 meters. From inside there are views of the monastery of Sant Llorenç del Munt, at the top of the summit of La Mola.
