Bransdale is a hidden gem of the North York Moors. There is a single-lane road which loops around the dale from Helmsley, up to Cockayne and down to Kirbymoorside which is a fantastic 44km road ride. This is known as the Bransdale Loop or the Cockayne Loop.

The land is mostly owned by the National Trust and there are no villages, only farm houses, so it feels very remote and quiet compared to other areas of the Moors. It really is worth visiting.

... And in Yorkshire then go back up again 😂 .

Steep descent, watch out for the sheep & rabbits that can be on the road ! Also, after the main descent you come to a farm with a double gate so also be prepped for that.
