Lower Blue Ibón

Highlight • Lake

Together with the Upper Blue lake and the Ibonet de l'Infierno, they are known as the Blue lakes or l'Infierno lakes.

All the Aragonese lakes are protected by being included in the Inventory of Singular Wetlands, therefore any activity that could modify the quality of their waters is prohibited. While bathing is not specifically mentioned, it is understood that bathing with chemicals on the skin such as sunscreen, deodorant, perfume, or lotion is negatively affecting water quality, so it cannot be done. You can read the protection decree and the list of wetlands included here: boa.aragon.es/cgi-bin/EBOA/BRSCGI?CMD=VEROBJ&MLKOB=558856590404

Lake Bachimaña

The route that goes up to the lake from the Panticosa spa is beautiful, although it has some somewhat tough climbs. But the place is well worth it. When you get to the lake there is a shelter where you can stop to rest a bit so you can calmly enjoy the landscape.

Trail Reviews

Al Wake
July 27, 2024, PANTICOSA. Balneario de Panticosa, Ibón de Bachimaña, Ibones Azules

We begin the route in the first parking lot of the Baños de Panticosa. The route is well signposted, in our case it was crowded with people and is demanding because of the slope and in our case also because of the heat. You pass through the Bachimaña refuge, and from there you can climb the blue Ibones. We only got to the first one.
