Inspiration (and details): https://schweizmobil.ch/de/wanderland/route-932 🫶🏼❤️ A truly beautiful hike with many amazing views 😍 My soul, the view, and I, in general, needed a day like today...
Very pleasant tour and a great view of Lake Walen
At the Maschgenkamm mountain station at 2020 m above sea level. begins the wonderful and harmless tightrope walk, which leads over seven peaks: 1) Ziger, 2) Leist, 3) Rainissalts, 4) Gulmen, 5) Cuncels, 6) Chli Güslen, 7) Grosser Güslen. At the Grosssee you can stop off at the Berghotel Seebenalp before descending to Tannenboden. https://www.schweizmobil.ch/de/wanderland/routen/route-0932.html
The 7-Peak Tour in the Flumserberg Mountains is a classic. It leads over the seven peaks of Ziger, Leist, Rainissalts, Gulmen, Cuncels, Chli Güslen, and Grosser Güslen, partly on ridge paths (practically never exposed) and through a very diverse landscape above and below the tree line. Some sections are quite steep, and after the recent rains, there are currently some slippery patches. Above all, however, there are sensational views, very good trails (dirt, rock, meadows), many small lakes, marmots, a raised bog, ... a dream tour! I took the Seejet gondola from Unterterzen to Tannenbodenalp and from there the next gondola up to Maschgenkamm. The round trip ticket costs 20 francs with a half-fare card, saving you a few kilometers by car and, on such a beautiful day, probably also some nerves – the parking lot at the top was full. Interesting again: Komoot says the tour is 15.1 km long and has an elevation gain of 560 meters and a descent of 1190 meters. According to my watch, it was 17.4 km long and an elevation gain of 790 meters. SwitzerlandMobility also states 15 km, but with 880/1550 meters. The truth is probably somewhere in between.
No easy tour requires a lot of fitness and stamina.
A very, very beautiful hike, the landscape and the view invite you to linger and enjoy. We took the train up because we were simply too late.
