Murgsee pleasure tour

On this hike, you can expect the three wonderful Murg lakes, which are located in a romantic mountain cauldron. On the way up to the upper Murgsee you come past waterfalls and walk along the babbling Murgbach. Back you get on the same route, but there are quite new perspectives than on the way.

The starting point is the Mornen car park at 1,240 meters, which you can reach by car or by Murgsee bus (Taxi Walser, please call +41 81 738 1441). Through meadows and through forests it goes steadily uphill. The lapping of the water accompanies you and over and over again you get to places where you can cool your feet.

The path leads you through the shady forest to the first of the three Murg lakes. Between the trees there are beautiful views down to the lower Murgsee and the local waterfall. A really idyllic scenery like from a Heimatfilm.

Via the crystal-clear Mittlerer Murgsee and the wetland meadows there, you hike to the Upper Murgsee. This is the largest and at the same time the highest of the three lakes. In the surface, the peaks of the Mürtschenstock are reflected and at a small dam the water falls down a few meters. Right next to it is the charming Murgseehütte, where you can not only dine very delicious, but also spend the night.

Back on the same path, the valley outward new views of the original Murg Valley holds ready for you.
