The best prospects on your run: The Parkhotel in Bremen looks great, doesn't it? The magnificent building is particularly beautiful when it is reflected in the adjacent lake.

Schlachte (Weser Promenade)

Highlight • Cycleway

Since the spring of 2009, it has always been great to walk or cycle from Bremen city center along the Weser to Überseestadt. The Schlachte promenade on the Weser was extended by around 250 meters between Stephanibrücke and Lloydstrasse.

The landscape and the cycle path here are really idyllic. You cycle past the Dammsiel lock, which connects the Wümme and the Kleine Wümme. The inn of the same name has now reopened with a new operator.

Trail Reviews

Biker and Travel
August 8, 2024, Kontrastrunde einem durch und um Bremen

Contrast tour through and around Bremen. I was shown the tour on Komoot by Bremen Tourism. I have to say, it's a really nice tour.   Just take a look.

Great idea to ride a bike in the bad weather today... Taking a fixie and riding a mud path around the Sportparksee doesn't make it any better either 🙈 Somehow I missed the time to turn around 😅

.... only unfortunately 🤨 women have to go through the (overseas) city of Bremen, which is quite annoying 😣 before the true nature is reached. But that way I, who had not been there for a long time, could see how much is being built there 😮 Of course, a lot of living space too 🧐 But live there ??? At the wholesale market etc in the neighborhood? Nothing for me 🥺 Back on the terrace there was first a latte 🥛 and then a sporty, alcohol-free Erdinger 🍺 Now hopefully have a nice 🌞 Sunday @ all ✊🏻 I rest… maybe 😉…. first off 🤣

Today we went to Vegesack again. But this time through the mouse tunnel over the Green Ring from Walle to the Grambker Sportparksee. We continue through Werderland, a great cycle path through the nature reserve. The first intermediate destination is the Moorless Church, together with an inn and an old village school, the last relics of the villages of Niederbüren and Mittelsbüren. In the 1950s, these lost villages had to make way for the steelworks. We continue over the Lesum barrier to Vegesack. Simply a lovely tour along our favorite route along the Lesum, via Wasserhorst to Blockland.

We cycle through the green belt in western Bremen to the Gramker Sportparksee lake and then continue through Werderland to the Moorlose Church. From Gramke onward, unfortunately, we mostly cycle on gravel paths. The restaurant next to the church is still closed, but the panoramic spots behind the dike wall are well-occupied for relaxing and watching the ships. The return journey takes paved paths behind and on the dike, past the Lesum barrage and the Dammsiel.

A well-known, but always beautiful bike tour. Started in the Bürgerpark with the new residents, then via the green ring to the Grambker Sportparksee. Just a great way, in the middle of the city and yet in the countryside. A coffee stop at the Moorlose Church and then back at the Lesum. Even the little rain shower doesn't bother us. Rating: Recommended

Metalhenge: I think the city and the artist succeeded To have completed a mountain of energy and relaxation from a mountain of rubbish. Cycling tour: Cycling on well-developed cycle paths on the Wümme, Lesum and Weser is simply fun.

It was planned differently today, but sometimes it turns out differently than you think. We actually wanted to do a guided tour from Bremerhaven in the direction of Cuxhaven, when we arrived at the train station they said the tour was full and I had also received an e-mail, it must have ended up in spam. But we've been here before, so reschedule quickly. And you can see what came out of it here. Second breakfast in Ritterhude and then to the Hefeweizen in the Moorless Church. On the way back we quickly bought something. Then the grill will be turned on tonight. Best regards
