Hiking

This small but very nice hiking tour takes you into the pure Black Forest nature deep in the Enz Valley.

Although the idyllic suburb of Gompelscheuer doesn't have that much to offer, the nature, the forest and the lake around it are all the more beautiful. Between the wooded slopes of the valley and over a beautiful path, directly along the course of the Kaltenbach, you go to Kaltenbachsee. A gem away from noise, everyday stress and crowds. He lies there completely still and rests in front of himself - perfect for a little rest.

Enchanted forest paths will later lead you back to civilization.

Lake Kaltenbach

Highlight • Lake

The Kaltenbachsee is a rafting lake from the past. It was created by the Enztal raftsmen in the 18th century and is a so-called surge lake. The dammed lake was formerly used to bring logs tied together to rafts down the valley and on via the Enz, Neckar and Rhine to their destination in the Netherlands. Today it is an idyllic lake that invites you to linger. There are two benches with a table right by the water. Nearby there is also a hut with another table and benches

Source of the Enz

Highlight • River

The Enz, which flows into the Neckar, is created by the confluence of the Großer and Kleiner Enz near Calmbach north of Bad Wildbad. The Große Enz, in turn, is created by the confluence of the Kaltenbach and the Poppelbach near Enzklösterle-Gompelscheuer. Just a few meters next to this confluence, a small spring was found and called the Enzquelle. Such a symbolic place, if it is marked accordingly, definitely has a certain magic.

🙁 Unfortunately, Forst BW has partially destroyed a 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 path to such an extent that we will certainly prefer the alpine trail next time 😉 but even so, 🥾🥾 hiking boots are a must 😍 we certainly didn't have an average of 6.3 km 😅

Small round trip to Kaltenbachsee, up via Kaltenbachpfad and down via Kaltenbachschleife.

A lovely short hike ❄️❄️ When the paths are free of snow ❄️❄️ and ice, it's also worth hiking the entire Enzquellen trail 😍

Nice little walk 🌄 before shopping 😊 Starting at the Enzquelle in Gommpelscheuer. Along the Kaltenbachtal up to the lake. Mainly great narrow paths🥾😍🥾 that invite you to take photos 📷. A bit of snow ❄️❄️ but still good to walk ♥️♥️♥️

Start at the source of the Enz, on mostly narrow paths along to the Kaltenbach lake and back again on the right side of the stream.
Even in the rain ☔️ 🌧☔️ nice to walk 🏃‍♂️ 😀😃😀

The beginning of the Great Enz

Consists of the Poppelbach and Kaltenbach streams. The loop to Kaltenbachsee is a very pleasant walk and invites you to take a break. There are even cold drinks at the fountain along the way.
Those who are more comfortable on foot can also take the path along the water to the lake.
