Hiking

Around the Hintersee National Park information center, you can explore the natural surroundings on flat, well-maintained gravel and asphalt paths leading into the valley to the wildlife feeding station (only open in winter). The path to the feeding station is accessible for people with disabilities. During the winter months, a horse-drawn carriage (reservations required!) takes you directly there (approx. 20-minute ride).

Depending on the weather, accessibility may not be guaranteed in winter.

Note: You can also return via the gravel path.

The walking time is approximately 2 hours (depending on the group). Please be aware that you may encounter cyclists and the Almerlebnisbus (Alpine Adventure Bus) on the asphalt road, especially in summer.

. ! ... Further information on accessibility can be found at: https://www.reisen-fuer-alle.de/wanderweg_klausbachtal_wildfuetterung_249.html?action=detail&item_id=2429

BEST MONTHS
January – December

REQUIREMENTS
Leisure shoes
The tour is accessible and suitable for inexperienced hikers. There is no accessible restroom at the wildlife feeding station.

WHAT TO EXPECT
An easy walk with minimal elevation gain.

Please note that the difficulty ratings on tour portals and trail markers may differ. Your tour planning should be tailored to your physical condition, so please always consider all factors and pay attention to the trail markers! The difficulty ratings on the trail signs correspond to the trail categories of the German Alpine Club (DAV). This tour is marked in yellow and is therefore considered an accessible route. The paths are wide, have no or only slight inclines, and there is no risk of falling.

TIP
If you would like to continue into the Klausbach Valley to one of the alpine pastures that are open during the summer, you can also use the AlmErlebnisBus (low-floor bus) (almerlebnisbus.com). Accessible boarding points are available everywhere.

GETTING THERE BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Generally free with a guest card from the valley municipalities (exceptions may apply).

The best stop is "Auzinger." From there, it's only a short walk (approx. 300 m).

The following bus lines will take you to your destination:

From Berchtesgaden: Bus line 846

From Schönau: Bus lines 841, 840, 843 – change at the Berchtesgaden bus station/main train station – bus line 846

From Ramsau: Bus line 846

You can find the timetable information at https://www.bayern-fahrplan.de/

Traveling sustainably is not only good for the environment, but also saves you parking fees. Have a good trip!

Wildlife Feeding Area Klausbachtal

Highlight • Natural Monument

During the game feeding (December - April) you can sometimes see up to 50 hinds, fawns and red deer. The feeding takes place to protect the mountain forest, since the red deer can no longer migrate to the foothills of the Alps due to the settlements and would thus cause damage caused by browsing and peeling.

Very easy tour to the wildlife feeding station with many interesting information boards about the national park.

Nice walk but some idiots couldn't take their trash (used diapers) with them.
