Forest dieback is clearly visible on this beautiful path☹️
Fantastic weather. Nice, wide views. Always worth it.
We really enjoyed great weather and lots of snow on our short trip to the Black Forest. 1st destination was the Schwarzbach dam for the 2nd breakfast. (last picture) Then we drove the Black Forest High Road to our hiking destination, the Schliffkopf. At an altitude of around 1000m, we walked the circular route in the snow in the bright sun. On the way back we again had a fascinating view of the Rhine Valley.
The Schliffkopfrundweg begins directly on the B500 at 1000 meters above sea level. The Schliffkopf offers the typical grinden vegetation, which is kept open by cattle grazing. Due to the long mountain ridge, running always stays at the same height. The way there leads on beautiful paths through the vegetation, the "way back" is a bit less attractive as a relatively boring forest path, but offers some nice views over the Black Forest heights. Conclusion: It is not worth walking the circular route as an extra tour, if you pass the B500 at the Schliffkopf, then a short detour to the "summit" is definitely worthwhile.
The most beautiful winter tour I've ever gone on with my wife, and if a picture says more than 1000 words. Addendum: Is it Please damn it please stick to the rules and not walk on closed paths or sections that are unfortunately closed for dogs to walk on with them as well. Hiking trails must first be closed to everyone (see Battertfelsen Baden-Baden.)
At 1000 m altitude, a wonderful moderately difficult hiking trail with absolutely beautiful panoramic views👍
After a day spent mostly indoors, this evening's round was wellness for body and soul. The Grinden landscape is simply uniquely beautiful.🥰
