Very beautiful environment! Unfortunately the weather was not what we expected. Rain, hail, lots of wind. The route would have been much more fun if there wasn't so much mud and the asphalt portion was much smaller. So much forest, so many possibilities. But putting miles of asphalt into a mountain bike route. Very sorry. Fortunately, the nature you drive through makes up for a lot.
Wanted to find out a bit about East Belgium 🙂. East Belgium has a lot to offer. Moors, rugged brook valleys and forest, forest, forest. Ideal for leaving the hustle and bustle behind and enjoying nature and tranquility (of course there must also be a bit of MTB trail fun 😎). Started in southern Eupen and then the Hellental on both sides first explored the French side up and then down the other side and tried to take a few trails with us - but was pretty rooty 😬. Great for hiking. Then along the dam and past the dam, crossed the Langesthal (actually the Wesertal 😉), took a few trails up to the log cabin and then - turned back at the dam - we were in 'really jail' (we only had water there 😋). Strengthened back up and around the Diebach a few trails down to Eupen. Partly nice view. There are a few trails, especially near the town (partly well-kept - but be careful with ramps, not necessarily TÜV-compliant). Then quickly back to the car, because it was getting dark quite early 🙂. In summer we would definitely have visited a café and tried Belgian delicacies - well, next time. Overall nice tour in stable autumn weather. LG and happy out-doors 🙂. .
