A relatively asphalt-heavy tour that still impresses with its views of the natural Lippe. The complete tour description and tips on how to get there can be found in our blog post: https://wanderfrei.de/wanderung-auf-dem-landstreifer-zwischen-stever-und-lippe/
In the morning, it was a good opportunity to take advantage of the cool temperatures and get some housework done. In the afternoon, I did this loop, which was both completely relaxing and mostly through the forest 🌳. The paved sections were rather boring and often used by cyclists 🚲. Luckily, everyone was considerate of one another today. 👍🏻 I couldn't see anything of the Stever and Lippe rivers because of the tall trees and bushes. Long pants are recommended when hiking the trails. Thorns and nettles are growing well. 😳
This trail also offers a lot for the eye. It goes through a lot of forest, and every now and then you catch a glimpse of the Lippe. If you walk the tour clockwise, you can take a detour to the wildly rushing Lippe about 2 km before the end. Fantastically beautiful.🚶♂️🚶♀️🙂⚒️
https://www.hohe-mark-steig.de/landstreifer/landstreifer-zwischen-stever-und-lippe/ Enjoy the landscape between Lippe and Stever. Hike through floodplains and pristine forests. The world between two rivers - beautiful to look at and with its own charm. Magnificent floodplains will enchant you on this LandStreifer, because river floodplains are a truly unique natural experience. On the one hand, it is the Lippe that impresses. It is a right tributary of the Rhine and accompanies you for quite a while on your hike. The history of the Lippe is exciting, because shipping on the Lippe dates back at least to Roman times. They used the river to transport their goods. The Lippe floodplains are regularly flooded and are often designated nature reserves, wonderful to look at. To this day, the Lippe is a very natural river that meanders through the landscape, mostly in its old riverbed. On the other side is the Stever, which beckons with its magical landscape. Animal landscapers keep nature beautiful here: Heck and Konik horses and Poitou donkeys. Then there are the "newcomers": storks and wild geese, which give birth to their young here. In addition to lots of water, this land-walk also has lots of forest, with the associated forest landscape that couldn't be more beautiful! Really pristine in some places with lots of space for native game and rare species - and space for you to enjoy peace, forest air and the view.
Eight hiking enthusiasts from the SGV Dortmund-Höchsten enjoyed exploring the scenic trail "Between Stever and Lippe" in high spirits. The approximately 11 km long route leads through diverse natural scenery between the valleys of the Lippe and Stever rivers, just outside the Ruhr region near Olfen. The trail mostly ran through dense forest and, at times, high above the Lippe. Idyllic views of the river and several riverbank passages, where hikers could enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the gently flowing water, made the tour particularly appealing.
https://www.hohe-mark-steig.de/landstreifer/landstreifer-zwischen-stever-und-lippe/ Beautiful and lots of forest, without highlights. It's a shame that the tramper didn't include the "STEG AN DER LIPPESCHLEIFE" on the route. Viewing platform on the Lippe, approx. 300 m away from the route. The paths to the banks of the Lippe are blocked at all points with tree trunks and there are warning signs about the risk of falling. 🤷🏼♀️ This route is recommended https://www.dvv-wandern.de/permanente-wanderwege/nordrhein-westfalen/wanderweg/durch-den-roenhagener-busch:
I've been planning to do this trail for a while. I've been in that area many times, and it was a lot of familiar territory, but there were also new things to discover. It's nice and relaxing to walk there, and Else and I had the entire trail to ourselves 🤗.
