Kermit and Badger's Run (green) — Bike Park Wales

Mountain biking

Kermit is one of the newest trails at Bike Park Wales, offering no less than 3.2 miles (5 km) of continuous singletrack down the side of the hill.

As a green-rated trail, it's absolutely perfect for beginners and kids, but more experienced riders will also enjoy it too. Just remember that slower riders have priority on this track.

If that wasn't enough, there's also a green-rated trail called Badger's Run that starts down near the trail centre. This means that you can link both Kermit and Badger's Run together for one mighty-long non-technical descent.

Then you just need to pedal up to get back to the trail centre for a break - or back to the uplift van for another go!

Kermit Trail Start

Highlight • MTB Park

Kermit is a pretty recent addition to Bike Park Wales' trail roster, and rated green it's a perfect way for novice riders to get started on the hillside.

If this is your first time riding at Bike Park Wales or if you're bringing some friends that haven't ridden mountain bikes before, this is your place to start.

Badgers Run

Highlight (Segment) • MTB Park

Badger's Run is green-rated beginner friendly trail at Bike Park Wales that's handily located right next to the trail centre hub and car park.

This easy singletrack leads down through the trees with an easy downhill gradient, with a few berms along the way, before you climb steadily back up the hillside to finish next to where you started.

This layout makes it an excellent choice for finding your feet on the mountain bike, as you can lap to your heart's content, building your confidence before you take on the other green and blue trails on the main hillside.

BikePark Wales Trail Centre

Highlight • Cafe

This is the central hub of Bike Park Wales, with the ticketing office where you can pick up your day pass (pedal up or uplift), a fantastic café, a bike shop with a workshop and bike hire and a pump track.

Handily, there are a few bike racks and plenty of seating here too, as well as a bike wash so you can take your bike home looking fresh! My go-to are the loaded fries for lunchtime, and they make a pretty mean hot chocolate too.
