Hiking
Two castles accompany you on this loop around Sulzfeld. Ravensburg castle is directly on the path, while you can see Steinsberg castle from several points across the valley. At the beginning, it goes slightly uphill through vineyards and along scattered orchards, typical of the Land of 1000 Hills. At the rest stop in the middle of the fruit trees, you have both castles in view simultaneously, with information boards explaining the surroundings and nature. Shortly thereafter, you reach the Altenberg viewpoint with the mirror installation "Weitsicht". The most beautiful view of Ravensburg castle awaits you at the "Hügel-Sofa" (hill sofa), where you can lie down on the "Himmelsliege" (sky lounger) and rest for a while. Afterwards, the path leads downhill until you are directly opposite the castle. Time for an extended break in the beautifully landscaped castle garden and a panoramic view from the tower. From the castle, it is not far back to Sulzfeld, keeping Steinsberg castle in view along the way. Once in Sulzfeld, you will find several places to eat and drink to round off an extensive hiking day, such as the Besenwirtschaft Pfefferle, the Weinstube Brüssel, or the Badischer Hof with a beer garden (check opening hours in advance). The circular tour starts and ends at the train station in Sulzfeld and is easily accessible via the RB41, RE45, and S4 train lines, as well as bus lines 144 and 145.
