Especially the first 50KM is beautiful from the border to Immenstadt is a varied piece but less suitable for cyclists. From Immenstadt to Sonthofen is a disappointment. Unfortunately about 10 km is not registered. The last part makes up for it.
@Jonas @David ...that was the second tour we had to cancel. We started from Siebratshofen, because the fog lifted there. Alpsee was picture-perfect, then we headed towards Oberstaufen and from Aach towards Austria. We took a break in Hittisau and it got a bit cooler. From the Sibratsgfäller Straße junction onwards, there was almost no traffic, and I had expected much more in Rohrmoos as well. There was nothing...except for a few woodcutters who kindly let me through. Rohrmoos, in the shadow of the Hoher Ifen, was a real "refrigerator," at least 5 degrees cooler. But I practically had the road to myself...there were even a few small patches of snow beside the road. Before Immenstadt, in Blaichach, I had a poppy seed cake as a pick-me-up – but honestly, folks – these things aren't what they used to be. Zero effect on the Zaumberg. It even gave me a headwind and hadn't worn me out like that in ages. ... Never mind - now I'm sitting at home and I'm happy that I made good use of the day.
I wanted to do something good again today. Always nice the Rohrmoos round 🤩 I met 2 young boys from Munich on their 2nd stage to Morocco on the ascent to Rohrmoos. 👍One had 40 kg of luggage with him and overtook one or the other 🚴♂️😳
Unfortunately, it wasn't quite enough for us at the Riedbergpass when measuring the time and so the race was over for us despite an average of 23. Nevertheless, a mega event on closed streets! 🥳
Beautiful tour, apart from the 3km Riedbergpass, 18%, in the heat 🤯🥵😱, sorry, it was my mistake!!!! Wrong turn 🤦♀️🥺😤 But the Rohrmoospass along the Rubach was just fantastic.... gentle climbs, rolling up & down, colorful flower meadows as far as the eye can see, bees, butterflies and co would be happy 🐝🐞🌼🌸🌼🌸 After Immenstadt, stop at the big Alpsee, a completely hidden bathing spot 🤫 It was awful 😊- including the coffee & cake stops 😄
No A*.....pass, it was clear that I would take a "shortcut" after an infection and a lack of training (no hm in the Black Forest because of 🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️) but at least it was a great experience😅 The area / route, especially the valley road on the Austrian side and the lower route between Nagelfluhkette and Hoher Ifen, was extremely picturesque, beautiful, it was worth it for that alone, epic without end The wetness and the temperatures were not my thing at all🥶
Very nice tour through the Allgäu Alps with a detour to Austria. Magnificent mountain landscape. Mostly little-used village streets.
Probably a sensationally beautiful round not just in autumn! You should take the dangling after the killer rise in Oberstaufen with you - cake, coffee and atmosphere in the café "Blaues Haus" are great!
