Uttendorf: Butterfly nature trail - Hohe Tauern National Park

A leisurely and at the same time instructive hike awaits families, pleasure hikers and butterfly lovers in Uttendorf. Under the motto "Experience nature", the hiker on the butterfly trail learns everything about the colorful companions, ecological connections from the realm of insects and interesting facts about the topics of nature and environmental awareness.

It starts in the heart of Uttendorf, which, by the way, can also be reached by train and bus. After the first information board you cross a dry slope, where the first warmth-loving flora and insect world - especially Apollo, mourning cloak and swallowtail - can be admired. The shady Steinergraben, a nice opportunity for a rest, is followed by the marshy Erlenau, an area that impresses with its rare mosses and ferns. The last part leads past the edge of the forest and littered meadows to the Liebenberg Alpine inn. The way back is either the same as here or via the paved Sonnbergstraße.

Tip: On the way it is a good idea to visit the Celtic village on Steinerbichl. A unique experience for the whole family!
