At a good 15 kilometers in length, our LandStreifer Wesel "Diersfordter Wald" is not very short, but your trip to the enchanted landscape of the heath moor with picturesque wooden plank paths and idyllic ponds will make the route fly by. Red deer, fallow deer, moufflons and wild boars live here in the Diersfordt Forest. And with a little luck, you can even watch the shy forest dwellers from a vantage point along the way.
At the parking lot on the edge of Blumenkamp you have already arrived in the middle of the forest area. The path meanders across to Flüren. You will hardly notice the civilization, because you always stay in the lush green. Follow a gravel path across Emmericher Straße. Oaks and pines soar proudly around you. After about nine kilometers, the view of the moor opens up. Keep your eyes peeled for the animal inhabitants such as frogs, wild geese and the gray heron, which likes to hunt here.
A special highlight awaits you at the end of the tour with the Black Water. The primeval pond got its appropriate name for the brown-black coloring of the water, which is caused by substances washed out of the peat. Sit down on a bench again and enjoy the silence.
