Donoper Pond, Hasselbach Reservoir, Krebsteich, and Blauer See: four bodies of water are on your route today along the Pivitker Waterway quality hiking trail. In addition to the pure nature of the four lakes, you can take a detour to the nearby Hiddeser Bent raised bog – the route is already included in the total length of the hike. The trail is, of course, perfectly signposted – simply follow the three white waves in a blue circle.
The starting point for your relaxing, almost six-kilometer-long tour through the nature of the Teutoburg Forest is the Donoper Pond parking lot. Since the waterway is a circular route, the destination is also located there.
After just a few meters, you first reach Donoper Pond and hike along the Hasselbach stream to Krebsteich. You then follow the trail parallel to the Hiddeser Bent Climate Experience Route. You can now follow the path to the raised bog. If you want to shorten the route, you can also take the first turnoff to the left. In the moor, you can walk a little way into the moor over a wooden footbridge and then return to the path.
The path now runs beneath trees all the way to the Hasselbach reservoir, always accompanied by the Hasselbach stream. Enjoy the tranquility of nature there and, whenever you like, make the final two kilometers back to the parking lot. Just before you reach the Forstfrieden Hotel and Restaurant, you'll find yourself waiting for you – you've earned a refreshing break.

Sandy paths first led us past Donoper Pond to the smaller Krebsteich (crab pond).
From there, the trail climbed up into the forest. We kept to the right and soon reached the viewing platform at Hiddeser Bent, which offered us
a view of the moorland landscape nestled …
