Palaces and fortresses en masse - this is what this tour on the edge of the Neckar Valley, southwest of Rottenburg, promises you. And it keeps what it promises. In places it almost feels as if you are cycling on a time machine, so much history is presented to you…

From Rottenburg the tour leads via Weiler, Hemmendorf and Starzach to Börstingen and from there back through the upper Neckar valley. There are a total of 9 castles and palaces along the way, including the striking Weitenburg Castle. In addition, the tour runs through the wild and romantic Rommel Valley, which is ideal for a long snack on the edge of the stream. A tour with plenty of vertical meters, mainly off the beaten track. The open observation tower of the hamlet of Burg was the highlight for me today
