The Prima-Klima-Tour is specially designed for a nice round with the e-bike, but cyclists without e-support also get their money's worth here and may have to pedal a little more. The focus of the tour is clearly on renewable energies. This tour takes you past all kinds of hydropower plants, solar panels and wind power plants and offers extensive information on the topic.
The tour begins at the Epplehaus in Tübingen's old town not far from the train station. Along the Steinlach you drive out of the city in the south and turn into the Neckar valley at Derendingen. In Derendinger Mühlenviertel, the tour takes you past a zero-energy house that has a completely balanced energy balance throughout the year.
The journey continues to downtown Rottenburg. Here on the Neckar, two hydropower plants generate electricity for around 3,500 households. Shortly afterwards, the Mühlencafé in the Bronnmühle is ideal for a first break. Here, too, the electricity is generated directly from the Bronnbach with its own turbine - old mill technology updated! A short detour to the Blue Bridge near Bad Niedernau gives you a nice view of the Stengle power station shortly afterwards, which also makes use of the power of the Neckar.
Now the e-bikers will be happy, because it goes up to the upper edge of the Neckar valley. Anyone without electronic support will also be happy afterwards, because Weitenburg Castle invites you to take a relaxing break with its restaurant, café and great foresight.
At Eckenweiler you can make a short detour to a wind power plant and water storage facility, which tower above the landscape here monumentally. You finally reach the Ammertal and the edge of the Schönbuch via several villages. Before you go up the mountain again, you can take another short break in Oberndorf's restaurant "Sonne" and find out about the restaurant's energy concept.
Finally, the tour takes you past Hohenentringen Castle down to Hagelloch and from there to Tübingen back to the starting point. A great end to the tour, because here you can really let it go and enjoy the wind in your face.
