A promising round, which is also peppered with a few wonderful refreshment stops, awaits you between Lengau and the end of the Glemmtal valley. A tour that is particularly suitable for connoisseurs, even if there is a steep climb in between.

As an unofficial treetop, treetop, and canopy trail tester 🦺🌲 (the older ones among you will remember 😉), it was time to get back to work and take a closer look at the Alpine version 🧐. With the "test location" located at the beautiful end of the Glemmtal valley near Saalbach-Hinterglemm, a suspension bridge 🌉 🤩 even included, and a beautiful high-altitude hiking trail 📸 surrounding it waiting to be conquered, what more could a hiking enthusiast ❤️ want? The Glemmtal valley with the Saalach River 🏞️ may be part of the Kitzbühel Alps and therefore no longer within the catchment area of my Summer Card 💳, but it's practically a quick cross-country ski run ⛰️ across the mountain range directly across from me. I did consider crossing, but I decided to drive around it anyway, which was totally boring 🙃, and found a spot in the huge free parking lot 🅿️ in Lengau. The first few meters along the Saalach River and past blooming mountain meadows 🌼 with a mountain panorama promised a beautiful day of hiking 👌, and before I knew it, I was standing in front of the Golden Gate Bridge 🌉 of the Alps. For a very reasonable 12 euros 👍, you can cross the 200-meter-long suspension bridge AND!! explore the treetop path 🌲🧙 directly behind it. Incidentally, I also became a bridge tester, because in Dresden, we're pretty familiar with them 😁. To my "disappointment," the bridge was quite stable, and I had to really step on the gas to get it to swing 😂. Since I'm still writing these lines, it apparently passed the vibration test ✅. However, the weight test gave an error message, as the maximum load had supposedly already been reached, even though I was the only one 🧌 on it. Weird... 🤔 The treetop path 🌲🧙 then welcomed me with some clever treetop wisdom (including a spelling mistake 😉) and, even from below, with its impressive wooden structure ⛩️. On the path itself, I immediately noticed that the trees 🌲 were integrated so that you could touch them 🤩 and weren't just standing around. In this respect, it already beat all the others, and I also liked the densely woven, woody and therefore natural construction concept 🪵👌. The number of explanatory panels 🪧, viewpoints, and small interactive and game opportunities was just right 👍, so that by the end, I actually got a real treetop feeling 🤩. Incidentally, you'd pay a higher price elsewhere without a bridge, so I give it a more than deserved grade of 1 👍👏 with the highest recommendation. Back on the Talschluss Höhenwanderweg (valley end high-altitude hiking trail), I continued on wide gravel paths, but with the mountain panorama 🤩 📸, it was easy to bear. I also discovered numerous waterfalls 🌊, which would be THE highlight elsewhere, but here are simply there. What a luxury... The climb was steady but only slight, and at some point I reached the end of the valley and the "summit book" 😆. Of course, I signed up, and as I did so, the Tristkogel ⛰️, a real summit, looming ahead of me, was still beckoning 🧗. I managed to resist and started back down, but since the trail isn't called a high-altitude hiking trail for nothing, the elevation gain really began ↗️. I continued on much narrower but very beautiful paths 👌, so that it was now a true mountain hike and no longer a stroll. Forest paths 🌲, loose gravel, and muddy tests of courage alternated, garnished with great views and retrospectives 🤩 of the mountains ⛰️ and into the valley 🏞️. I also had a rare animal encounter 🦌, which, however, seemed a bit stiff and almost wooden, was only suitable for a quick photo 📸 😉. To get a previously hidden view of the Staffkogel ⛰️, I briefly deviated from the main trail near the highest point of the day, before continuing on a lovely, serpentine trail, first through mountain meadows 🌼 and later along hillside paths with a view, while still bothering a herd of cows 🐄, then back to the parking lot 🅿️ on unspectacular, wide gravel paths. Since the day was still young and my evening schedule wasn't filled yet, I wasn't finished yet and continued on to my next tour in Zell am See 🌊. Conclusion: The Talschluss high-altitude hiking trail alone would be worth recommending 👍. Together with the Baumzipfelweg 🌲 🧙 and the Golden Gate Bridge 🌉, it's almost a MUST!!! ☝️ to experience this beautiful part of the world for yourself 😍. There are also alpine pastures and places to stop for refreshments 🍻 all along the trail, but I didn't pay much attention to them.
Today a more relaxed hike through the valley head of the Saalachtal, with a great stop at the Ossmann-Alm and the Forsthofalm 🥨🍺🥾
This scenic and beautiful tour was all about "Shall we take another hut with us?" In the end, there were three 😉 Quite an achievement considering the kilometers〽️🔆🏔️
The hike starts at the parking lot in Lengau and runs slightly uphill in the valley to the Baumzipfelweg and the Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps. It is 200 meters long and 42 meters high. Walking on the bridge is a pleasure for all those who like things to move. On the other side begins the highest treetop path in Europe. It leads over 11 towers in 30 meters and is a real highlight with a length of 1 km. Right next to it is the high rope park with a length of 8 km, the Bautzen high rope park is only the entrance portal. A jump and slide park complete the action experience. If you follow the hiking trail a little further, you come to Teufel's Wasser, which got its name from the legend of the notorious Teufelssprung from Hinterglemm. Water wheels of all kinds are moved here by the rippling water. The path to the Saalalm leads further into the end of the valley, climbing a little more steeply. This is where the wheat separates from the chaff.
After the break in the rain, we set off on a hike that was at the top of our to-walk list ;) In Lengau, we start straight uphill and soon come to a beautiful, rooty, stony path with magnificent views. How convenient that the weather is actually "bad" today, but still nice and warm. We even see wild horses again. Once we've climbed most of the altitude, we head more relaxed into the end of the valley, which is a wonderful sight - especially the rocks with the small waterfalls. We fortify ourselves at the Ossmann Alm and the weather changes again. (Incidentally, a wildlife trail also continues here.) Halfway there, we head down to the actual destination. From the Saalalm, it's better to take the forest nature trail. Coming from above, you have to pay close attention to the entrance, as you basically go the wrong way round. It runs along the riverbed, is really beautiful and not shown on the map. At the Teufelswasser, we first cool our feet 👣 and of course play. For those who need even more adventure, there is the high ropes course, SkyFly, diving towers and the small "wooden park". When we stand on the bridge to the treetop path, the drama begins: no more hats today and the little guy has lost his stamped hiking map for the Kids Challenge. That went really wrong 😞and because he at least wants to catch up on this part, we postpone the whole thing 🤷🏻♀️To save the mood a little, we shorten the last few kilometers and take the valley end train down, at least he thought that was cool 😎 Conclusion: even shortened, it's a really great and beautiful hiking route! 🤩
Please visit all Helga at the Forsthofalm! She is doing a great job there! She manages the alp without electricity and cooks delicious dishes on a charcoal stove. She also processes some of the milk from the cows herself. Really recommendable 👍🏻😋
The weather meant well again today and the 🌞 seemed merciless. We set off and took the hiking bus to Lengau. From here it went steadily uphill to the Forsthofalm. Often thought on the way, why am I doing something like this to myself 😰. But when we got to the top, we were compensated. We were on a very old, still original Alm 🤗, with a super nice landlady (who couldn't be disturbed by anything), you should just go here. After refreshment, with fresh buttermilk and bacon bread, we continued in the direction of the Ossmannalm, past cud-chewing 🐄🐄🐂 and the Saalalm (unfortunately closed, but it also looked quaint) along the Saalach in the direction of the Lindlingalm. Since the end of the valley train ran later, we walked back to the 🚌 stop and arrived happy and satisfied at the hotel.
Unfortunately, komoot sometimes did not find the position during recording
