Gravel riding
This tour is a varied gravel ride along one of the Ruhr region's most unusual railway cycle paths. From Haspe, you quickly reach the Haspe-Voerde-Breckerfeld narrow-gauge railway line, which winds its way through a beautiful forest in a series of switchbacks, barely recognizable as a former railway line. From here, you can take a short detour to the Haspe Reservoir.
Otherwise, the tour continues its ascent until, shortly after Breckerfeld, you reach the highest point in the Ruhr region, the 441-meter-high Wengeberg. Then it's downhill past the Ennepe Reservoir on a quiet asphalt road, and the tour becomes more urban again towards the end.

Today I went from Gevelsberg towards Haspe to take the small railway line from there to Breckerfeld. From Breckerfeld we went via Holthausen, Ennepetal Burg and Peddenöde back to Milspe and finally Gevelsberg. Personally, I really enjoy riding the small railway line, it has a lot of elevation gain and is absolutely not overcrowded. You can still ride your bike in peace. Actually there should have been a YouTube video about this, but the GoPro somehow recorded without sound today 😩. But when we got home it worked normally again 😏🤷🏻♂️. Then I'll probably have to do the tour again 🤷🏻♂️😂. Let's see when I do that, there are wonderful colors there now in autumn. You all a good Sunday.
First, we climbed about 400 meters uphill through forest paths and meadows. Then we descended back to the starting point via the panoramic L599 road. So, quite a bit of gravel riding.
Matching the tour is the matching video, of course free of charge and without obligation. I would be very pleased if you take a look and comment 🫶https://youtu.be/TInDYqa90fw?si=xZqVM1lWVj4d0Yzm
After a two-week forced break (repairing brakes, chain, etc.), I'm back on track 🤪😎. I had to adjust a few little things along the way 🔧 🪛🤔, that's just how it is 😂
