Gravel riding
This almost 40 kilometer long tour takes you into the wild, legendary Val Sinestra. You cycle through characteristic Lower Engadine villages and through the impressive mountains. On the way you can expect gentle inclines but also a few steep ramps. So look forward to a varied round.
It starts in the town of Scoul at an altitude of 1,243 meters. The still relatively gentle slope up to the mountain village of Sent gets your circulation going. We continue into the valley via mountain bike route no. 442. Sometimes on asphalt, sometimes on gravel, sometimes with a slight incline, sometimes you crank your way uphill really hard. As different as the route is, the landscape is just as varied: While you drive through dense forest at the beginning, this soon alternates with a deep gorge and later with alpine meadows on Alp Patschai.
Your effort will be rewarded, a crisp single trail descent to Zuort awaits you. Time to pause here for a moment and enjoy the idyll. You roll further out of the valley, mostly downhill to Ramosch. Then you cross the Inn and take the bike path back to Scuol.

This route was planned by komoot.
Today I cycled from Scuol via Sent into Val Siestra. From Sent, a gravel road with a gentle incline led into the valley. Even from here, I had a beautiful view. Later, the forest path climbed steeply and was quite a challenge. The route was varied, passing through sparse larch forests, alpine meadows, and wild mountain streams. The descent was borderline steep in places, even on a gravel bike (at least for me). The paths and roads were in very good condition and made the descent into the valley an experience.

We did the tour in August 2024 with a slightly different version: start and finish is Nauders with the Norbertshöhe on the way there and back. We chose to start the tour in Sent via the Inntal cycle path, which leads through the sculpture forest and with a few meters of elevation up the Inn in a scenic
