Do I need a permit or pay an entrance fee to access the trail in Carson National Forest?

Generally, day-use hiking on trails within the Carson National Forest does not require a specific permit or entrance fee. A nice intermediate trail. Some elevation gain but not technical at all. We went clockwise and at the three mile mark you'll be tempted to go straight. The. Trail actually goes right. The path is hidden by pine branches and a sign pointing. The proper direction is down on the ground
