The Becca d'Aver cycle path takes you through the peaks and valleys of Saint-Barthélemy de Nus, Verrayes, and Torgnon, under the majestic gaze of the Matterhorn. It's a high-mountain route, where coniferous forests alternate with bright meadows and wide open spaces: every curve offers new, unique views to admire.
The route is dotted with small villages, where you can stop for a quick bite to eat and enjoy typical Aosta Valley specialties. In Lignan, there's a surprising vending machine selling food, perfect if you're in a hurry.
Along the route, you'll encounter the Gorza mountain pasture and Lake, ideal for a scenic break: the mountain pasture offers wide pastures and splendid views of the surrounding mountains, while the alpine lake is a quiet haven perfect for relaxing. You skirt the wetland of the Lo Ditor pond and arrive in Gilliarey, where the "Visitation" chapel stands on a panoramic promontory overlooking the valley below and offering a beautiful view of the Matterhorn.
The cycle path ends at Lake Cignana, a short walk from the Barmasse refuge.
