The aim of this loop is simple: to walk around Lake Pierre-Percée, a small Lorraine gem nestled in the foothills of the Vosges Mountains. The route is relatively short, fairly easy for the first part before becoming more hilly towards the end. The terrain is almost entirely natural, following paths and trails.
The starting point is at the dam where the lake originated. On one side, the water stretches out in a zigzag pattern, while on the other, a small valley plunges down below. The route then winds along the shoreline. Several viewpoints and remarkable rock formations enhance your walk.
At the end of the route, the village of Pierre-Percée and its castle add a cultural touch to your nature getaway. They even enhance the view of the lake. Back at the starting point, you can admire the expanse of water one last time before heading back.
