3/5 ⭐, The hike through the Schoofsbesch nature reserve offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty of the region. The first 4 km are narrow paths with wonderful views of Gilsdorf leading to the historic quarry of Bettendorf. Then it goes 2 km along field paths before the last kilometer leads back on the same path.

Nice walk. The walk does start with a serious climb, but after that it is quiet walking for 80% under the trees. Beautiful rock formations on which even trees grow. The roots are entwined in the crevices of the rocks. I can definitely recommend this walk.

We parked out of Gilsdorf and entered the Ösling Pad without any noise. The first part of the road to just behind the coal is simply dramatic, as one would expect from an eastern path.
