This route was planned by komoot.
In the summer months you can only push the bike because of the many pedestrians. This is even required by Limone sul Garda. The best thing, however, is to park your bikes safely and explore the lively old town on foot. At times it is no longer possible to get through on the narrow streets, especially at the harbor.
This newly created cycling and hiking trail is quite impressive. Although most people only talk about the cycle path, it can just as easily be done on foot. Unfortunately, the path is currently over after about 3 km. In no case is it advisable to continue on the Gardesana in the direction of Riva. Way too dangerous! From there there is no cycle or hiking trail and on the road through the narrow tunnels there would have been a kamikaze action. So we had to turn around and walk back the same way and were able to enjoy the beautiful views again.😊 Here is a link to read: https://www.gardasee.de/garda-by-bike-radweg
A real challenge at 43°C, but a wonderful change from everyday heat 🥰
With the Galileo Galilei wings🛥️ we jet🚀 over Lago from Garda to Limone 🍋. The goal was the Skywalk 🚵♀️ & 🚶🚶♀️weg (👍 to #Melchior Müller for the information that a section at Limone is already open), which was opened 3 years ago, spectacularly attached to the rocks above the lake at a dizzying height😵. Already 👀 worth engineering skill that unfortunately currently ends at the border to Trentino😲. Then a bit of sightseeing with masses of 👥👥👥 (blatant 🤐) through Limone. Then fled very quickly for a cappu ☕ & a sprizz on the beach🤭. At the end of the 🤩 excursion, we went to the return flight🛥️🚀 over Lago in Garda on ne earned🍕 with 🍷 and 🥗.
Nice tour unfortunately it ends after 5 km, the only way to continue is on the busy road
The tour started from Limone. The "return route" is documented here. So far 2 km have been completed, past the tunnels on the outside, the route will be continued, see construction sign including costs! Great views, even a bike workshop for minor repairs you can do yourself and a free, clean toilet. We walked the route, if we come here again we will definitely go by bike, I only use an e-bike 😉 . Highly recommended!
Exciting project... but the construction time is similar to Berlin Airport and will still be a challenge. The ambitious project should probably circumnavigate the entire lake by 2021. But it still lasts... Conclusion: you can do it, but you don't have to. As a pedestrian, it's a really nice route in parts, but you can also walk a good kilometer directly on the busy road, if you like it... We were out and about at dusk, out of season, so it was ok. As a cyclist, I don't want to do that. The speed is limited to 10 km/h. Honestly, what serious biker rides on the flat at 10?? You fall over 🫢 and then pedestrians and oncoming traffic everywhere. Or is that dolce vita? 🤔
Very nice tour, without any demands on the condition. Better to do it with cloudy skies or lower temperatures. In between there is even a toilet!
