This easy loop trail usually takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to complete. It's a comfortable walk, perfect for a relaxing outing.
Absolutely! This trail is considered easy and is highly suitable for all skill levels, including families with children and even strollers. Its gentle nature and well-maintained paths make it a popular choice for a relaxing outdoor experience.
You'll be treated to breathtaking views of the turquoise Lake Antholz (Antholzer See), framed by dark green forests and the majestic peaks of the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park. Along the way, you'll find numerous information panels, picnic spots, and even a Deer and Goat Enclosure at Lake Antholz (Anterselva). Don't miss the View of the Lake and Mountains and the unique Stone Cairns at Lake Anterselva.
The trail features mostly accessible and well-maintained paths, including wooden boardwalks that cross streams. It's a gentle walk with minimal elevation gain, making it very comfortable for everyone.
The trail is beautiful year-round. Spring offers delicate colors, summer provides cooling shade from larches and spruces, and autumn showcases vibrant reflections of colorful foliage. Even in winter, it's a popular spot for a scenic walk, though conditions may vary.
There are designated parking areas near Lake Antholz. The trailhead is easily accessible from these parking spots, often right by the lake itself.
Yes, the trail is generally dog-friendly. However, please keep your dog on a leash, especially given the presence of wildlife like the deer enclosure, and always clean up after your pet to maintain the natural beauty of the area.
No, there are typically no specific permits or entrance fees required to hike the Antholzer See Nature Trail Loop itself. It's freely accessible for everyone to enjoy.
While the Antholzer See Nature Trail Loop is within the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park, there are generally no entrance fees for the park itself. However, always respect local regulations, such as staying on marked paths, not disturbing wildlife, and keeping dogs on a leash, to preserve this protected natural environment.
Yes, the route is primarily known as the 'Seerundweg' (Lake Circular Path), which covers 100% of this trail. It also briefly intersects with sections of the '2-Täler-Trail' and the 'Almenweg', offering connections to longer routes if you wish to explore further.
Yes, you'll find several convenient spots. There are designated Picnic benches and tables by Lake Antholz, perfect for a break. You can also find refreshments at Platzl Am See, a hut located directly by the lake.
The tour started at the biathlon stadium in Antholz. At the lake we went around to the left, but you can also do it the other way around. At the end of the tour we went to the Tiroler Hütte, which was open. There would have been places to stop for refreshments at the far end of the lake, but they weren't open at the beginning of May. Easy tour, on the way back it is helpful if you are free from giddiness 🙃 Approach via the Pustertalstrasse exit at Rasun then continue to Antholz.
A short walk around Lake Anterselva—a little exercise is always good. 😉 Then a quick stop at the biathlon arena, where the World Cup will be held. And also the next Winter Olympics in the biathlon discipline.
Today we were at Lake Anterselva 🌊😀 A really beautiful lake with a naturally serene circular hiking trail 👍 I totally underestimated the weather, it was really cold there❄️ there was often snow and ice⛄️, the lake was still almost completely frozen and covered with a layer of snow. I had neither a jacket nor matching shoes on😅 But no matter, it worked that way too 🤣🥶 Later the sun came out and it got warmer😎🌞🏔 Ricky found the Tyrolean Easter Bunny 🐰😉🙃 and so we wish everyone 🐇🐣Happy Easter🪺🌼
Easy walk along turquoise water, but with lots of people. Lots of benches along the way and places to stop for refreshments at lakeside huts and lakeside hotels - parking at the stadium €8!!!
Today in Biathlon Land ... Schick! Easy nice hike; in the course with some sun and thus blue sky. Even more beautiful ...
A beautiful walk along Lake Antholz. There are several places to stop for refreshments. It's easy to walk without hiking equipment. You can also swim in the lake; there are plenty of benches and even a lawn for sunbathing. If you want, you can combine the hike with the Obersee in East Tyrol (Austria). You can take a hiking trail to the Staller Sattel and then up to the Obersee, then circle the lake as well. I've also posted a hike for this. However, we drove up, as the total elevation gain is approximately 5-600 meters. Please note that the Staller Sattel Pass is only accessible once per hour in each direction. So check in advance. Parking at the Antholzer See costs €8 for cars (as of July 2025).
Anterselva Lake...nice lake for families.from the Arena parking lot...with stroller...the path on the left is much better...it goes up slightly..but it is wide and protected..while I do not recommend with children..the right one. Nice. But steep and not protected
