Gravel riding
There is a place where the mountain becomes poetry and gravel finds its most authentic voice: it is the Verva Loop, a wild ring that starts from Bormio and takes you to discover the essence of the most hidden Valtellina. The route can be ridden in both directions.
You leave Bormio behind and climb through larches, pastures and forgotten mule tracks, crossing the small villages of Isolaccia, San Carlo and Arnoga. You reach the highest point of the route, surrounded by the majestic peaks of Monte Maurigno and Piz Dosdé. The effort soon turns into beauty: it's just you, your gravel bike and a world that seems sculpted to be ridden. Alpe Verva welcomes you with its absolute quiet, a remote plateau that speaks with the wind, framed by mountains that look like silent guardians.
The track descends through high-altitude dirt roads and grassy valleys to Ravoledo di Grosio. From here, continue along the Valtellina cycle path, which runs along the Adda river. The Verva Loop is not just a route: it is an escape from the noise, a ritual for those who love the mountains without filters. You return to Bormio with tired legs and a full heart. And with one certainty: you will want to do it again.
