This flat tour through Prekmurje is of historic sporting significance: It was here in 2004 that Slovenian extreme athlete Jure Robič set a world record in the 24-hour time trial. He covered 840 kilometers on a 17-kilometer circuit – non-stop. Today, you can ride the same route and experience the special atmosphere of this extraordinary achievement.
You start in Moravske Toplice and follow well-paved roads through open fields and small villages. The course is pleasantly flat and technically easy. Along the way, the Pasero Country Chocolate shop invites you to take a break and refuel – or you can stop for a picnic at the idyllic rest area in Mlajtinci.
At the end, a detour to the Protestant church in Moravske Toplice is worthwhile before you finish your tour – or maybe you can do another one?
