After a 6-hour drive, we headed straight to the Buchenberg (we hadn't checked in yet) for 2.5 km at an average gradient of 20% in 30-degree weather, where we were rewarded with our first 🍺. A very nice, steep path covered in roots up to the alpine pasture. The reward at the top was a magnificent panorama. 👍The descent was similar, over roots and steps. Once at the bottom, we enjoyed a traditional Weißwurst (white sausage) with a pretzel. All in all, a great start to our vacation 👌 And my Garmin even says we climbed 400 meters...
Wonderful round in dream weather and snow over the Buchenberg. The weather was awesome 🔨. Snow was more than expected. What a shame, the Buchenberg Alm was closed 😏. Caution: Alpine experience, sure-footedness and a head for heights are required for the tour!!
Nice tour, but it's steep up and down. But the food at the top is great and includes a very nice view.
Nice little hike to the Buchenbergalm with a wonderful panorama. The ascent is via the stream path through the forest. The root path with the adjoining creek was also a great experience for our dog up to the summit. Once at the top, you will be rewarded with an incredible panoramic view. On the one hand you can look deep into the country and on the dreamlike Forggensee and on the other hand the Ammergau Alps cast a spell over you. After a hearty break with Kaiserschmarn and König Ludwig, you descend via the Kulturenweg in the direction of the valley station.
Fast circular route to the Buchenberg. Nice hike, mostly through a forest, with a beautiful view of the surrounding lakes from above.
Today we finally made it back to Buchenberg. A small but beautiful mountain with beautiful views of the mountains and lakes. Starting at the free parking lot at the valley station in Buching, we climbed along the Kulturenweg (Culture Trail). At the top, we enjoyed an isotonic cold drink 😉 and Allgäu cheese spaetzle. This time, the return journey took us along the Bachweg (stream path). It was steep and slippery in places, but it was the shortest way back. Finally, we finished with a coffee in the café at the valley station.
Here the route T1 went up and T2 down. The T2 route has many more attractions.
