Just let it roll without any disturbing cars: You can do that on the Himmerlandsstien. You'll be traveling along a disused railway line between Viborg and Løgstør. Where trains once ran, there's now a long cycling and hiking route.

Along the route, you'll find beautiful spots where you can rest or have a picnic. Shelters are also located along the route.

A short detour is recommended in Aalestrup. There you can visit the Danish Bicycle Museum. Afterwards, you'll certainly be glad you didn't have to complete the route on an old penny-farthing bicycle and can enjoy a relaxing ride to your destination, Løgstør.

The Himmerlands Trail is 79 kilometers long. It is open to cyclists, hikers, and horseback riders. The trail was built on the former railway line from Logstor to Viborg. Over the course of four years, the railway line was converted into the current trail. A total of 82.5 kilometers of track, 5,500 tons of iron, rails, and 130,000 sleepers were removed. The route is Denmark's longest trail on a former railway line.
