October 12, 2024,Oedenberg | Günthersbühl | Neunhof | Kulinarische Schlössertour
Today we headed towards Günthersbühl via Oedenberg and Tauchersreuth and Nuschelberg! This time it was a very "culinary" hike with a stop at Oedenberg Castle and the Wiethaler Brewery - both absolutely worth a visit. The trail was very easy to hike and is actually super easy to do.

A very nice round - also suitable in winter - lots of open spaces with good sun - some very nice places to stop for refreshments at Oedenberg Castle, Wiethaler and Nuschelberg

Today I chose the west loop of Ödenberg. This is also a hike from the Nuremberg region in conjunction with the VGN. There are plenty of places to stop for refreshments and a few castles. You always have a great panoramic view.

The first hike this year with the hiking group starts at the castle in Odenberg.
In wonderful hiking weather, the tour takes us to Tauchersreuth, past the water tower to Beerbach; a detour to the St. Egidien church is worthwhile.
We continue with great views and many paths to Neunhof, past the Wiethler brewery towards Nuschelberg; we stopped off at …

The start and finish is the parking lot at Gasthof Schloss Oedenberg. There are also two electric charging stations here. You can stop for refreshments on our circular hike at the Brauereigasthof Wiethaler in Neunhof. The Hallerschlösschen in Nuschelberg is also on the way. Opening hours are Friday-Sunday. At the end of this beautiful and easy tour, we ate in …

The first tour this year with our hiking group takes us on a large circuit through the villages of Oedenberg, Tauchersreuth (beautiful view from the former ski lift down to Eschenau), Beerbach (beautiful old fortified church), Neunhof, Nuschelberg, and Günthersbühl. Castles AND inns everywhere - so something for everyone!

Showing Translation

We chose this route after the dreary, gray weather because it's mostly sunny, although the forest path has its charms too. You pass through several villages with excellent restaurants, some of which are housed in very old buildings.

The second part of the tour, the so-called Westschlaufe (western loop), starts in the already familiar Neunhof and leads back to Nuschelberg. If you do both routes together, you could save yourself this section of the path.

From Nuschelberg, a beautiful path leads downhill through the forest, past a small pond and some narrow streams, and back uphill to Güntersbühl …
