With Lake Zurich to your right, this tour takes you into the countryside, always along the lakeshore to beautiful Rapperswil. From green spaces to viewpoints, you'll always be surrounded by nature. If picnicking outdoors or even barbecuing around a fire pit isn't enough to make this mini-vacation on the saddle appealing to the little cyclists in the family, you could also suggest a visit to the Knie Children's Zoo in Rapperswil-Jona.
With experiences like these, it's guaranteed to be more than just a one-day bike ride. Then you'll soon be asking: When are we going on another bike ride?

gray🌫️ cold❄️ wet☔️ ...But the bike had to be brought back home. A thick curtain of fog pervaded the otherwise panoramic route. It's always exciting to notice how your energy level changes completely when you have to deal with weather-related challenges. The actually short route felt like an eternity, and the destination seemed to be getting no closer😅 There are definitely better days.

Stage 3 First we take a short tour through the alleys of Zurich's old town. Then we cycle along the north side of Lake Zurich. The cycle path runs right next to the busy main road and is therefore not very relaxing. So we turn off and follow cycle route 66 through residential areas and vineyards to Rapperswil. Now we cycle along the lake dam to Pfäffikon train station. From here the train takes us to Einsiedeln at an altitude of 985 m - our destination for today.
